![]() ![]() Great care has been taken in designing the NEUTRON to ensure it is true to the circuitry of the classic synthesizers that made musical history. Just put your NEUTRON into self-oscillation, connect your favorite keyboard or computer via MIDI over DIN or USB – and start exploring the world of analog music synthesis right out-of-the-box. Owning a NEUTRON is like having your own personal time machine, enabling you to freely embrace the past – or shape the future!ĭesigned around an intuitively-linear workflow, NEUTRON benefits greatly from its semi-modular design, which requires no patching for immediate performance. And when it comes to protection and convenience, the NEUTRON can be mounted in a standard Eurorack, making it ideal for the studio and/or the road. NEUTRON’s Paraphonic mode allows both 3340 analog oscillators to be independently controlled for an expanded palette of tonal options. ![]() The pure analog signal path is based on authentic VCO, VCF, VCA and state variable filter designs in conjunction, with a flexible, multi-wave LFO and classic Bucket Brigade Delay (BBD). The 1970s and ’80s spawned the first wave of portable analog synthesizers, and while quickly adopted by a bevy of renowned musical artists including Jan Hammer, Chick Corea, Rick Wakeman, Jean-Michel Jarre, Isao Tomita and Keith Emerson to name a few, they were somewhat temperamental and very expensive.Īn updated incarnation of its predecessors with all the original features and then some, the BEHRINGER NEUTRON lets you conjure up virtually any monophonic sound imaginable with incredible finesse and ease. Comprehensive USB/Midi implementation for connection to keyboard/sequencer.External audio input for processing external sound sources.Powerful headphone output with dedicated level control.Patchable audio-rate sample and hold with glide for added creativity.32 in / 24 out jack matrix for an incredible amount of patching options.Utility functions including attenuators, multiples, slew rate limiter and summers for creative patching flexibility.36 controls and 7 buttons give you direct and real time access to all parameters. ![]() Overdrive circuit adds rich analog warmth and edge to your sounds.Noise generator dramatically expands waveform generation.Flexible LFO with five waveform shapes, MIDI clock sync and key sync.Multiple stage analog delay based on legendary BBD (Bucket Brigade Delay) technology.2 analog ADSR generators for modulation of VCF and VCA.Self-oscillating, multi-mode VCF with dual output (e.g.Paraphonic mode allows both oscillators to be independently controlled.Individual pulse width / tone mod control provides ultimate sounds.Oscillator waveform control blends seamlessly between 5 shapes (tone mod, pulse, sawtooth, triangle, sine).Semi-modular architecture with default routings requires no patching for immediate performance.Pure analog signal path based on legendary VCO design to recreate classic sound performance.Paraphonic synthesizer with authentic dual 3340 analog oscillators for insanely fat music creation. It also has clones of the Oberheim OB-Xa and Roland VP-330 to build, though given these are being built in engineers’ free time, the Neutron may arrive first.īehringer teases original semi-modular analog synth, Neutronįact Premiere: Susu Laroche - washing touch offĬktrl interview: Composing a soundscape for I ♥ Campbellįact Premiere: Aurélien Bernard - (reed) įact Premiere: Síbín Vol. It’s not clear if the Neutron is that cheap, but the company did say last year it wants to make synths that start at just $49.īehringer hasn’t said when the Neutron is likely to be released, but its $299 Minimoog clone – the Behringer D – still hasn’t shipped yet, despite pre-orders opening last June. ![]() Last year’s DeepMind 12 synth has been received fairly well, particularly with regard to its very competitive $999 price point. However, Behringer does have experience in making original instruments. Over the past 12 months, the company has courted controversy with a succession of synth clones, including models of the Moog Model D and Oberheim OB-Xa. Probably the most surprising thing about the Neutron announcement is that it appears to be a completely original synthesizer design. The bright red, two-oscillator desktop instrument has its own 56-point patch bay on the right hand side along with functions like sample and hold, LFO, overdrive and delay. Behringer is making a synth that isn’t a clone.īudget gear company Behringer has teased a new semi-modular analog synth called Neutron. ![]()
